EICR New Legistration - what does it mean for Landlords?

These new regulations require landlords to have the electrical installations in their properties inspected and tested by a person who is qualified and competent, at least every five years or change of tenant before 1st April 2021. Landlords have to provide a copy of the electrical safety report to their tenants, and to their local authority if requested.

Local Authorities (LA) are required to enforce the new legislation and can impose a fine of up to £30,000 for a breach of these Regulations. Where there are multiple breaches, the LA can impose multiple penalties.

This means that all landlords now have to do what good landlords already do: make sure the electrical installations in their rented properties are safe.

You can rest assured that the report you receive from Woulfe Electrical is accurate and thorough, giving you the peace of mind that your tenants and properties are safe.
